He was born on April 3, 1927 in Polk County, Iowa and was the son of George and Annie (Wynne) Beattie.
He entered the U.S. Navy in May, 1945 where he became a Seamen 1st Class
Mr. Beattie worked many years for Public Service of NH and later owned and operated Beattie's Aquarium in Hooksett.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to flea markets.He loved going to train shows and was also a toy train collector.
IN HIS LIFE: The family includes a step-son, Michael Racette of Manchester; two grandchildren, Jade Couture and Jessie Wood; two great grandchildren, Kyle Couture and Cyanna Couture; and two daughters in law, Suzanne Brasley and Linda Racette.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Jeanette "Tach" Beattie in 1969, his 2nd wife, Arlene (Bousquet) Beattie in 2004, a stepson, Larry Brasley in 1994 and a grandson, Keye Brasley in 2004.
Burial took place in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, on Friday, March 12, 2010.
