Richard O. Bissonnette

Richard O. Bissonnette, 74, of Manchester, died November 30, 2018 after a sudden illness.

He was born in Manchester on January 12, 1944 to Orien and Simone (Tremblay) Bissonnette. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1962 and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He served in the NH Army National Guard for 28 years with the 172nd Artillery Division in Manchester and the 210th Engineering Division in Peterborough.

Richard worked at Bissonnette Foundations for many years. He also worked at Tokena Corporation and as a self-employed handy-man. He was a former baseball coach at South Little League and was president of St. Therese Bowling League for many years.

He was known as a Jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything. He showed many acts of kindness in his life and was always there when help was needed. He enjoyed cooking, riding his motorcycle and his daily breakfast with his friends at Margie's Dream in Manchester. Time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, was very important to him.

The family includes his wife of 53 years, Claire L. (Morency) Bissonnette of Manchester; three children, Peter R. Bissonnette and wife, Lisa, Timothy J. Bissonnette and Michelle M. Bissonnette and fiancé, Chris Perkins, all of Manchester; grandchildren, April Kastner, Zachary Bissonnette, Shane Perkins, Dylan Bissonnette and Reilly Perkins; great-grandchild, Olivia Kastner; step grandchildren, Jeffrey Rousseau and Jessica Rousseau; step great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Haas and Ellianna Rousseau; four siblings, Doris Bissonnette of Londonderry, Constance Benoit of Goffstown, Helene Paris of Manchester and Claude Bissonnette of Auburn; one aunt and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Bissonnette.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
