Richard F. Chartrand, 75, of Manchester, died October 9th, 2004 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.

He was born October 1, 1929, in Manchester, NH, the son of Louis and Laurette (Corriveau) Chartrand. He was educated in the local school system.

He began work as a sales representative for Bankers Life & Casualty Insurance and thus began a lifelong career in the insurance .

He enjoyed traveling and had a special passion for horse racing. For those who knew and loved him, he will be greatly missed for his unique sense of humor. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert Chartrand. Dick is survived by his grandchildren, Chris, Stephanie and Ryan Chartrand, Tina Guay, and his sister-in-law Grace Chartrand of Bedford.

His family includes his wife of 55 years, Florence (Leclerc) Chartrand of Manchester; Two daughters, Susan Chartrand of Manchester and Joanne Chartrand of Barrington, NH; Three sons, Mark Chartrand of Manchester, David Chartrand of Mesa, AZ, and Michael Chartrand of Manchester; 3 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter; Three sisters, Dolores Labarre of Manchester, Georgette Sequin of Serra Vista, AZ, and Pauline Fetcko of Summerfield, Florida; Many nephews and nieces.

A memorial reception in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, was held Tuesday October 12, 2004. A funeral service was held immediately following the reception at 6pm in the funeral home. Burial was at the convenience of the family.
