Richard A. Durant, 78, of Manchester, died December 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on September 26, 1944 to Arthur and Lina (Gagnon) Durant. He served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Richard was a correctional officer with the Hillsborough County Corrections Department for many years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Pointers Fish and Game of Bedford. He also loved being the chef at his cookouts. He will be remembered as a loving and giving person.
He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Rickey Morrissey and a brother, Henry Durant earlier this year.
Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille B. (Bamford) Durant of Manchester; three children, Jeffrey Durant and his wife, Linda, of Deering and Richard Durant Jr. and Tammy Audet and her husband, Joseph, all of Manchester; five grandchildren, Kayla, Kristy, Shelly, Noah and Hunter; 17 great grandchildren; two siblings, Robert Durant of Bedford and Doris Stewart of Salem; cousins, nieces and nephews and his Godson, Randall.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday (12/30) from 4 to 6:30 p.m. followed immediately at 6:30 p.m. by a funeral ceremony, all at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.
