   Richard J. “Dick” Finnerty, 89, of Manchester, died May 18, 2023 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief period of declining health.

   He was born in Manchester on October 27, 1933 to Joseph and Hedwig (Snarski) Finnerty.  He served in the U.S. Army during the late 1950’s and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

   Dick had worked at Universal Packing Company in Bow for over 30 years. 

   In his early years, he enjoyed golfing, gardening and building projects around the house. In retirement, he enjoyed grocery shopping, cooking, baking, watching black and white TV shows, including westerns and talking about his military days in Germany.  He also had a love for animals, especially his beloved cats, Buddy, Gus and Misty.

   He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Phillis (Alli) Finnerty in 2020.

   Dick is survived by five children, Dianne Boxall and her husband, Mike, of Cornwall, England, Michael Finnerty of Hooksett, Laurie Berthiaume and her husband, Tom, of Northfield, Linda Lamarre and her husband, Richard, of Washington state and Karen Boddy of Manchester; six grandchildren, Tanya Caisse, TJ Berthiaume, Christopher Lamarre, Tiffany Matteau, Cody Berthiaume and George Boxall; and four great grandchildren.

   SERVICES:  There are no calling hours. A private celebration of life will take place at the convenience of the family.

   Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
