Manchester, NH – Richard B. Forest, 83, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Bedford Hills Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, surrounded by his loving family.
Born, raised and educated in Manchester, NH, he was the son to the late Bertrand and Laurice (Lemay) Forest. He was a graduate of Central High School and went on to own and operate West Side Lawn Mower for over 35 years before retiring.
Richard was a talented musician and played the saxophone in the Downbeats Band and the Billy B. Band in his younger years throughout New England. He was an avid NASCAR, Red Sox and Patriots fan. Richard also enjoyed volunteering at Catholic Medical Center for many years and was a member of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
Richard is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorraine C. (Gelinas) Forest; son, Daniel R. Forest and his wife, Mindy of Goffstown; step-grandchildren, Kimberly and Jonathon Armstrong; daughter, Susan M. Forest also of Goffstown; three siblings, Bertrand Forest Jr., of Norwood, MA; Leon Forest and his wife, Suzanne of Pembroke, Muriel Sterling and her husband, John of Bedford; brother-in-law, Tom Letourneau of Aurora, CO and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Carmel Letourneau.
SERVICES: Calling hours are from 4 to 6pm on Monday, April 17th at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. Committal services will be Tuesday, April 18th at 10:30am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to American Parkinson’s Disease Association P.O. Box 61420 Staten Island, NY, 10306 or to Disabled American Veterans Association P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
