Richard L. Garland

Richard L. Garland, 71, of Goffstown, left this life on December 31, 2006, surrounded by his family and friends at the Bel-Air Nursing Home in Goffstown, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Lowell, MA, March 2, 1935, and was the son of Harold and Christine (Dutney) Garland.

He owned and operated Garland's Catering Service in Hudson and Garland's Restaurant in Milford, NH. He also worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for Continental Paving Co. in Hudson, NH.

He was a lifetime member of the Elks.

He loved his grandchildren, and his animals, especially his Corgi dogs and his cat, Oliver. He enjoyed sports and loved to fish at his camp at Highland Lake in Stoddard, NH.

He loved his wife of 48 years, Elaine (Brown) Garland of Goffstown; a son Leith L. Garland and his wife Sharon of Mansfield, MA; two grandchildren, Faith and Joshua Garland; two brothers, Donald Garland of Dracut, MA, and Harold Garland of Londonderry, NH; two sisters, Grace Conlon of Dracut, MA, and Dorothy Patterson of Lowell, MA.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday January 6, 2007 at the Harvest Baptist Church, 361 Hackett Hill Rd., Hooksett, NH. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH was in charge of arrangements.
