Richard Maurice Gregoire, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1962, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Doris and Arthur Gregoire. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Doris and his brother Marc.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Danielle Gregoire; his daughter, Casey Gregoire and husband Atef; furbaby Zachary; his father, Arthur Gregoire; his brother, Robert Gregoire and wife Cheryl; and his sisters, Colette Brunelle and husband Dave, and Pamela Gregoire and long-time companion Pete Hollis; many nephews, nieces cousins and Godson, Jason Gagnon.
Richard dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to Pratt & Whitney, where he began his career as a mechanical engineer and ultimately retired as an NBRO Engineering Director. Through this job he had the opportunity to travel the world. A lifelong learner, he earned his Master of Business Administration from Boston University while working full-time and raising a family—an achievement that reflected his determination, discipline, and commitment to growth.
Beyond his career, Richard was deeply invested in education and service. He taught at York County Community College, shared his faith by teaching Sunday school at St. Mary’s Church, and volunteered with Catholic Charities. He was also a proud and dedicated Little League softball coach throughout Casey’s childhood, leaving a lasting impact on many young athletes.
Known for his tough exterior and soft heart, Richard was a true community builder and a Manchester boy for life. He remained close connections to his childhood friends, special shoutout to Jimmy Gelinas and wife Darlene. He believed strongly in neighbors supporting one another and worked tirelessly to foster that spirit in Wells, particularly in his retirement. This passion led him to establish Residential Maintenance Solutions, through which he helped countless friends and neighbors with home projects. A natural problem-solver and modern-day MacGyver, he could fix—or figure out—just about anything.
He also knew how to enjoy life. He loved sharing a beer (or three) with friends, playing pool and darts in the game room, drumming or strumming in his garage band with wife Danielle on vocals, and passionately cheering for his favorite teams—the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins. He could make anybody laugh with his unique sense of humor.
Richard will be remembered first and foremost for his integrity. A trait that he attributed to his father and hoped to live up to, also for his intelligence, generosity, faith, humor and unwavering commitment to family and community. his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the community he helped build.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, December 31st from 4 to 7 pm, followed by a service at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester.
