Loudon

Richard W. Gurall, 78, of Loudon, NH died January 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Manchester in 1944, he was the son Antone and Blanche (Kula) Gurall.  He graduated Bishop Bradley High School and attended the University of Notre Dame before earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.

Prior to retirement, Dick had been the facilities manager and longtime civil engineer for Public Service of New Hampshire (now Eversource) in Manchester.  After his time at PSNH, Dick worked as an engineer for First Robotics, before being employed by Criterium Engineering.

He loved to hike and earned his badge from the AMC for climbing all of New Hampshire’s 4,000-foot mountains.  He was also an avid cyclist and reader.  He and his wife Brenda enjoyed traveling- especially to Italy and Sanibel Island, FL.  Once he finally moved fully into retirement, Dick continued his involvement with FIRST Robotics through volunteer work.  He thoroughly enjoyed his time working with students from West High School, Pembroke Academy, St. Paul’s School, and Merrimack Valley High School.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Brenda (Stefanik) Gurall of Loudon; his children- Dan and his wife Merideth, Sally and her husband Eric, Michael and his wife Catherine; his grandchildren- Matthew, Scarlett, and Connor; and Dick’s brother Bruce and his family.

There are no public calling hours.  A celebration of Richard’s life will be announced in the springtime.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to your regional FIRST Robotics organization.  https://www.firstinspires.org/donate?utm_source=first-inspires&utm_medium=donate-button&utm_campaign=donation
