Richard A. Lamontagne

   Richard A. “Dick” Lamontagne, 77, of Northwood, died April 10, 2024 at Concord Hospital after a long period of declining health.

   He was born in Manchester on April 8, 1947 to Zerilas and Yvette (Fradette) Lamontagne.   He graduated from West High School in 1965 and lived in Manchester for many years before moving to Northwood 35 years ago.  He had also wintered in South Carolina and Florida.

   During the Vietnam era, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He earned a bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College in 1980.

   Richard worked at the New Hampshire State Liquor Commission for several years then as an operations accountant for the Department of Veterans Affairs, retiring in 1988.  

   He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Alpine Club, Rimmon Club and American Legion Jutras Post.  He was also affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and many sports.

   He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Susan Lawrence.

   Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Monette P. (Gage) Lamontagne of Northwood; a daughter, Hope-Laura Landry and her husband, Douglas, of Center Barnstead; three grandchildren, Christine, Bethany and Matthew; five great grandchildren; two siblings, Ronald Lamontagne of Manchester and Robert Lamontagne of Merrimack; and a brother-in-law, Danny Lawrence.

   SERVICES: A cemetery committal service is Tuesday (4/23) at 11 a.m. at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.

   Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
