Richard M. Layes, 91, of Manchester, died November 17, 2012 at the Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Berlin, NH February 15, 1921 and was the son of William and Emily Layes. He grew up in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School in 1939.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
He was a former member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Berlin.
Richard had worked at Central High School in Manchester. He also worked part time for Vista Foods in Manchester after retirement.
He has no immediate survivors.
Private burial was. in New City Cemetery in Berlin.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
