He was born in Manchester on December 4, 1945 the son of Maurice and Therese (Paquin) St. Onge. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester where he graduated from Bishop Bradley High School and later New Hampshire College. He proudly served his country in the US Army and served in Vietnam in 1969. He received the Army Commendation Medal from the Secretary of the Army on August 11, 1969.
His career focused in accounting and business management. He was employed at NH Ball Bearings, the Aaron Foods Corporation, Tage Inn Corporation and later with the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services as Long Term Care Budget Director.
He loved golf, long drives in his convertible, grilling by the pool and the time he spent at his Florida home in Ft. Myers. Most importantly, he loved his best friend and soul mate Sylvia and his family. Richard was a proud man, enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and wanted nothing more than his family to be happy and healthy. Undoubtedly he is playing on a beautiful golf course in the sky and looking fondly with pride upon all those that he loved on earth.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia (Henault) St. Onge. Sylvia was the love of his life and they enjoyed a marriage filled with love, laughter and pride for 47 years. He has two loving children, Ken St. Onge and Joleen (St. Onge) Stephen. Other members of his family include his daughter in law, Shannon (Cean) St. Onge and his son in law Robert S.
