Richard Thomas, affectionately known as Cookie, 86, of Laconia and longtime resident of Manchester, died May 21, 2017 after a period of declining health at the St. Francis Home in Laconia.
He was born in Claremont, NH on January 10, 1931 and was raised at the Laconia State School until moving to Manchester in 1971.
Cookie was known and loved by many, always seen riding around town on his tricycle. He was a very religious and devoted man to his faith. He was one of the first members of the League of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood.
He leaves behind his dear friends and caretakers, Dan and Maryse Charbonneau, Gerry Villemure and Hugh Mellet.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 26, 2017 in Our Lady of the Cedars Church, corner of Mitchell St and Calef Road. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St, Manchester, NH 03104.
