Rita T. Cullen

Rita T. Cullen, 69, of Manchester died June 30, 2023, at her home, after a losing battle with an aggressive stomach cancer.

Born in Berlin on June 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Carbonneau) Laliberté. She was a 1972 graduate of Notre Dame High School, in Berlin, a 1975 graduate of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Rivier University in 2007. She dedicated her career as a registered nurse (both in the Emergency Department and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab) to Catholic Medical Center for over 35 years before retiring in 2014.

Rita had very strong social connections. She loved being a wife, a sister, a friend, a nurse, and caring for others, both patients and coworkers, often organizing dinners. She enjoyed traveling, being at the beach, and was passionate about movies and shows. Rita was a longtime subscriber to Broadway in Boston. She was the most caring, compassionate, and giving person that you could ever meet. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grand-aunt, friend and colleague.

Rita was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Brian S. Cullen in 2014.

Family includes her sister, Hélène Laliberté Bickford and husband Lawrence of Hancock; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Wood and husband William, Karen Cawley, Robert Cullen, Mark Cullen and wife Casee, and Christopher Cullen; her nieces, Shauna and Kelsey, nephews, Ethan and Jacob, and her grandnephew, Jamie.

SERVICES:  There are no calling hours. The Celebration of a Life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 20^th at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH 03102. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: NH Food Bank, 700 East Industrial Dr., Manchester, NH 03109.
