Rita T. DesRuisseaux, 79, of Manchester, passed away on October 2, 2018.
Born in Manchester on June 3, 1939, she was the daughter of Omer Gagne and Lillian Boisvert. She graduated from St. Marie High School.
In her early years, she spent her life as a homemaker. Later, Rita was employed with Garber Travel as a travel agent and Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Rita loved traveling, cooking, knitting, sewing, gardening, and spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee with her family. She was a volunteer at Catholic Medical Center, and recently received recognition for 11, 050 volunteer hours of service. She also knitted hats and blankets for newborn babies at Elliot Hospital for a total of 2,500 volunteer hours of service.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, L. Robert DesRuisseaux in 2003.
Family members include three daughters, Diane Kazanowski and her partner, Jim Mulholland, Suzanne Berube and her husband, Stephen and Janet Girard and her husband, Ronald; two sons, Marc DesRuisseaux and his wife, Kim and Robert DesRuisseaux and his wife, Julie; eight grandchildren, Corey, Andrew, Jonathan, Nathan, Lauren, Katelyn, Alexandra and Danielle; three great grandchildren, Parker, Amelia and Layla; and a sister, Carmen Bourgeois and her husband, Normand.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday , October 10, 2018 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Private interment was at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum in Manchester.
