Rita C. Forcier, 83, of Manchester, died January 6, 2004, at her residence, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester, August 10, 1920, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Rose Anna (Bourque) Pinard. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
Mrs. Forcier worked as a stitching supervisor for Textron. She later worked part time as a seamstress for McQuaid's, and also for Headstart.
She was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, formerly of St. Edmond's parish and now of Post 1624. In addition she was a member of the American ex POW Group and the Hi Hopes Club. As a volunteer at Elliot Hospital, she had knitted over 500 hats for newborn infants. She had been very active at St. Edmond's parish and was presently a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration.
Family members include her husband of 58 years, Edouard L. Forcier of Manchester; three sons, Edouard Forcier III of Manchester, Gerald Forcier of So. Thomaston, ME, and Marc Forcier of Goffstown; five daughters, Elaine Jacques of Troy, Ruth Glennon of Manchester, Paulette Gibbons of Bedford, Denise Bergeron and Anita Fortin, both of Manchester; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; four brothers, Fernando Pinard of Litchfield, Marcel Pinard of Manchester, Antoine Pinard of Whitefield, and Louis Pinard of Bedford; two sisters, Theresa Blais of Laguna Hills, CA, and Roseanne Harrington of Manchester; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Forcier, in 1960
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday January 10, 2004 at the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
