Rita D. (Desruisseaux) Furgal, 67, of Manchester died July 29, 2002 at Community Hospice House, Merrimack.
Born in Manchester on June 28, 1935, she was the daughter of Alfred and Alphonsine (Carrier) Desruisseaux. She lived in Manchester most of her life.
She worked many years as an x-ray technician at the former Moore General Hospital in Goffstown, and the Elliot Hospital and New England Micrographics both in Manchester.
Mrs. Furgal volunteered many years at Open Doors Outreach, Kairos of New Hampshire and Christian Aftercare Ministries. She was a charter member of the Board of Directors of each of these.
She also volunteered in Bible studies at the Valley Street Jail in Manchester and the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown.
She was a member of the X-Ray Society of New Hampshire and a longtime member of Harvest Valley Church of God of Prophecy in Manchester. She was an avid golfer.
The family includes four children, Monique A. Boucher of Manchester, Jacqueline D. Hutchinson of Danvers, Michael E. Furgal of Saugus, MA and Jeanne M. Chalifour of Manchester; eight grandchildren; a brother, Armand Desruisseaux of Camillus, NY; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Friday August 2, 2002 in Southside Bible Fellowship, 200 So. Jewett St., Manchester. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, So. Beech St., Manchester.
