Rita T. Gagnon

Rita T. (Manseau) Gagnon, 84, of Manchester, died July 21, 2013 at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester on October 20, 1928 to Henri and Lena (Raymond) Manseau. A lifelong resident of Manchester, she attended St. Anthony School and was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She also worshiped at the Precious Blood Monastery where she often made donations and had Masses said for those in need.

Rita retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, where she worked mostly in housekeeping, after more than 25 years of dedicated service. Prior to that, she worked at St. Teresa Manor and several other places.

She loved to cook, crochet and play bingo, but more than that, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Roger J. Gagnon in 2010.

The family includes three sons, Normand G. Gagnon and his wife, Walda (Ciesla), of Bedford and Gerard R. Gagnon Sr. and his wife, Jeanne (Sheldon), and Marcel J. Gagnon and his wife, Constance (Provencher), all of Manchester; 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; a sister, Doris Marchand and her husband, Julien, of Manchester; a brother in law, Donald L. Gagnon and his wife, Doris, of Manchester; several nieces and one nephew.

The family wishes to thank the administration and staff at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center for the compassionate care they provided to Rita and her late husband over the last few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

Memorial donations may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, NH 03104.
