She was born in Hooksett on July 3, 1926 to Joseph and Rosalba (Therrien) Groulx. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Mrs. Lacroix worked for Ammon Instruments as an assembler and Chicopee Textile Mill in Manchester as a weaver for many years.
She was a devout Catholic and a former parishioner of St Patrick Church. She was a lifetime member of the Third Order of St. Francis and was a Eucharistic Minister. She attended St. Jean the Baptist bible study for over 10 years.
She was truly a devoted mother who always provided a compassionate, listening ear. She was also an excellent cook who loved to entertain guests.
She was an avid reader who loved to read the Bible. She enjoyed making crafts, tole painting, bowling, and playing bingo, word games and cribbage.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes eight children, Janet Andrus and her husband, Clayton of Weare, Elaine Burleigh and her husband, Donald, of Manchester, Paul Lacroix and his wife, Louise, of Merrimack, Linda Doherty and her husband, Ed, of Georgia, Claudette Billodeau and her husband, Randy, of Bedford, Teresa Gladu and her husband, Gary, of Allenstown, Jacqueline Grant and her husband, James, of Manchester and Leonard Lacroix and his wife, Jennifer, of Budapest, Hungary; a daughter in-law, Violet Lacroix of Manchester; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Groulx of Manchester.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roger A. Lacroix earlier this year; a son, Donald R. Lacroix in 1994; a grandson, Craig Stoklosa in 2005; and a brother, Ronald Groulx in 1996.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 24, 2009 at Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
