Sr. Rita St. Laurent, CSC (Sr. M. Anne Francoise), 85, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester died August 3, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, MA
Born in New Bedford, MA on November 16, 1918, she was the daughter of Adhemar and Anna (Carreau) St. Laurent. She entered the congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1934 and made her final profession in 1941.
Sr. St. Laurent earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester. She then taught at parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Gonic, Nashua and Manchester; in Massachusetts at Adams, Attleboro and New Bedford and in North Grosvenordale, CT. While in Attleboro, she also taught at Bishop Feehan High School.
The family includes three brothers, Roland St. Laurent of Summerville, SC, Gaston St. Laurent of Acushnet, MA and Maurice St. Laurent of Freetown, MA; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday August 6, 2004 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, So. Beech St., Manchester.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
