Rita Yvonne Mathieu

Rita Yvonne Mathieu, 88, of Manchester died April 20, 2015 at the Villa Crest Nursing home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bristol, CT on August 23, 1926, she was the daughter of Alcide and Eva (Poulin) Veilleux. Prior to retirement, Rita had been employed as a clerk with Sears and Emery Waterhouse for many years.

She enjoyed knitting and hand made many mittens to donate to the Salvation Army. She had also created helmet caps for military personnel.

Above all else, Rita was a dedicated wife, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed.

Her family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Villa Crest Nursing Home for wonderful care they provided Rita during her stay there. They would also like to give special thanks to Rita's friend Connie Guillemette and Elizabeth Ann, a volunteer with the Manchester VNA for their companionship and compassion during Rita's final days.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph R. Mathieu in 1994.

Family members include her brother Jean Veilleux of Las Vegas; her nieces, Stacey Holland, Vicki Barker, and Cindy Leblanc, all of Las Vegas; her nephew, Jean Chouinard and his wife Anne of Manchester; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A committal service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester.
