Sister Rita Meunier, CSC (Sister M. Jean-Robert, CSC), 89, died September 1, 2004 at the Holy Cross Health Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Nashua, NH on August 5, 1915, the daughter of Philosime Meunier and Elisa Bonnette Meunier. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1939 and made her final profession in 1946. She dedicated 65 years of her life to the Church and to the Congregation.
She earned a BA from Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH in 1967 and taught in the elementary parochial schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross in Clayton, NY, St. Albans, VT, Manchester and Nashua.
She retired in 1991 at Holy Infant Jesus Convent, Nashua, NH. In 2000, she transferred to Holy Cross Health Center where she resided at the time of her death.Sister Rita is survived by one sister Marie Chantal, formerly of Nashua but presently residing in St. Charles, Missouri; Nephews and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in the Chapel of St. George Manor on Friday September 3, 2004. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester handled the arrangements.
