Born in Manchester August 7, 1932 to Louis and Rose (Beaulac) Vaillancourt, Rita was raised in Manchester and had lived in the same home in Bedford for the past 50 years.
Mrs. Morrissette had worked for Anderson Little Co. for several years but devoted most of her time, energy and passion caring for and lovingly adoring her family.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and was very active with the Shawl Ministry of Blessed Sacrament Parish.
She was an avid cards, dominoes and Bingo player with a frequent lucky streak. She also enjoyed occasional trips to Foxwoods with friends and keeping an immaculate house.
Rita loved to cook for others, was always the last to sit at meals and would shoo those trying to help out of the kitchen.
Above all, she was a loving mother who adored her son, a devoted grandmother and a wonderful friend to many.
She leaves her son, Dennis F. Morrissette and his wife, Albertine, of Manchester; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Richard, Elizabeth and Erica; two sisters, Claire Champagne and her husband, Lucien, and Gertrude Metivier and her husband, Normand, all of Manchester; a sister in law, Viola St. Jean of Manchester; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Predeceased by the love of her life, husband and best friend of 58 years, Richard P. Morrissette, as well as two brothers, Roger Vaillancourt and Roland Vaillancourt, Rita's life was a celebration of love that was deeply felt by all.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
