Rita P. Walker, 94, of Manchester, NH, passed away on September 23, 2021.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 17, 1927, she was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Redmond) Hannigan.
Rita was kind, thoughtful, humble and gracious. She had a wonderful sense of humor and truly enjoyed making others happy. Welcoming friends and family to her lake house brought Rita the most happiness. Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Rita was predeceased by her husband, George B. Walker, in 1996.
Family includes four children, Leslie A. Schuttinger of Manchester, NH Robert B. Walker and wife Linda of Naples, FL, Terence J. Walker of Plymouth, NH and Kathleen R. O'Reilly and husband Robert of Colchester, VT; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Rita's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of River Woods Manchester, for the extraordinary care and compassion given to their mother over the last eight years.
SERVICES: There are no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 29 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 225 Hemlock St., Manchester, NH 03104. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory may be made to: River Woods Benevolent Fund, 200 Alliance Way, Manchester, NH 03102.
