Rita Marie Proulx

Sr. Rita Marie Proulx, PM (Sr. Marie du Rosaire), 83, of the Presentation of Mary Sisters, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH died September 28, 2004 at her residence.

Born in Sanford, ME on January 3, 1921, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Rose (St. Cyr) Proulx. She entered the order of the Presentation of Mary Sisters in 1940, made her first profession in 1943 and her final profession in 1948.

Sr. Rita Marie was a pianist and choir director at parochial schools in Biddeford, ME and in New Hampshire at Berlin, Dover, West Stewartstown, Manchester and Hudson. She served as principal and local superior in West Stewartstown and Berlin and as local superior in Keene and Manchester.

She retired in Hudson in 2002 and transferred to Manchester in 2003.

The family includes a sister, Muriel George of Springvale, ME; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday October 1, 2004 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH was in charge of arrangements.
