Robert L. Batchelder

Robert L. Batchelder Jr., 70, of Manchester, died Wednesday April 10, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born on June 11, 1942 in Ayer MA, and was the son of Robert L. and Florence (Neagle) Batchelder.

He entered the US Air Force in February 1961.

Robert worked many years and retired from BAE Systems as a Mechanical Engineer.

He took great joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved camping and hiking. He was an avid reader who enjoyed watching T.V and playing golf.

Members of his family include his three sons, Eric Batchelder and his wife, Sarah of Leominister MA; Keith Batchelder and his wife, Kerri of Hatchville MA; Brandon Batchelder and his wife Chloe of Canterbury NH; three grandchildren, Desmond, Henry and a grand-daughter, Morgan, a brother, Tracy Batchelder of Florida, a sister, Patti La Fleur of NH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Sharon Bolden.

A memorial service with full military honors took place on Friday, April 19, 2013 in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, Tax Deductible Donations may be made in his name to the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 626 Concord, NH 03302-0626 to help his family create a memorial bench.
