He was born in Manchester on December 2, 1952, the son of Francis and Evelyn (Howard) Bernier. He was educated in the local school system and attended Memorial High School.
Bob will be remembered for his free spirit and love of life. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed kayaking, bee keeping, hockey, motorcycling and any other activity that made him feel closer to nature. Since his illness, he most enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his family. His favorite saying "Always keep your sense of humor, even if you have nothing else" will lovingly be remembered by his family forever. And in the end, "Let Wales Be."
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra (Barna) Bernier of Weare; two daughters, Rebecca Bernier and Elizabeth Bernier, both of Weare; one son, Beau Bernier of Weare; two grandchildren, Talia and John Despres; one sister, Bonnie Bernier of Manchester. He was predeceased by his son, Scott Robert Clifton Bernier in 1972 and also his parents.
A graveside committal service was held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road, Manchester.
