Robert F. Chabot

He was born in Manchester, March 8, 1924 to Elphege and Josephine (Lebel) Chabot and was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mr. Chabot was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, Local 131 for 57 years.

He was a former member of the NH State Legislature where he served 14 years on the Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee, representing Ward 12, District 17, Hillsborough County.

Robert was a member of St. Marie parish where he had sung in the choir for more than 50 years and had learned Gregorian chant under the direction of the Marist Brothers. He was also a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 130.

In his retirement, he enjoyed various carpentry projects. He also enjoyed gardening, spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Cecile (Paul) Chabot of Manchester; seven children, Michele Waite of Mansfield, MA, David Chabot of Westbrook, ME, Jocelyn Larochelle of Edgewater, FL, Daniel Chabot of Goffstown, Jean Louis Chabot of Charleston, SC, Claudette Chabot of Manchester, and Dennis Chabot of Goffstown; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces & nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Marie Church.
