Robert “Bob” S. Evarts, 78, of Bedford, NH, recently passed after declining health.
Born in Manchester, NH, he was the son of the late Forrest and Mildred Evarts, Sr. He was raised in Hooksett, NH and graduated from Central High School in Manchester. Always an excellent student, he earned his bachelor's degree from UNH, attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts and earned several master's degrees from the University of California and Webster University.
Bob served in the United States Army for 22 years before retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His career included tours of duty in Vietnam, Germany and South Korea. He continued his career for over a decade with SRA Consulting. After retiring from the corporate world, Bob moved to Cody, Wyoming, owned and ran Cody Lodging vacation rental business, the Higher Ground Internet Coffee Shop, a bed & breakfast and supported the Buffalo Jump Winery as a friend and silent business partner.
In his spare time, Bob was a member of Forward Cody, enjoyed putting together tours of Yellowstone, and supported various local businesses, from country bands to a flavored raisin business.
Bob was a ferocious bibliophile who enjoyed lengthy conversations about history, politics and current affairs. When he wasn't helping others, he enjoyed traveling, listening to music and taking daily walks with his dogs. Above all else, Bob will be remembered as a kind person who enjoyed long conversations and being a loving father, grandfather, brother, companion and friend.
