Robert G. Pierce, 83, of Concord died December 14, 2016 at Concord Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Glen Cove, NY in 1933 to William and Alice Pierce. Robert was educated in Glen Cove. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea for 2 years as an aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class in 1955. Robert was also in the Army Reserves for 8 years. After moving to New Hampshire in 1970, he worked as a telephone repair person for New England Telephone and AT&T for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.
Robert had a passion for airplanes and music. He enjoyed golfing, living in Florida, and learning new things. He was an independent, strong willed man with an infectiously positive attitude. He loved and appreciated life and all those that he encountered. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Family includes two daughters, Heather Emery and husband Steven of Penacook, and Laurie Rouleau and husband Michael of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Brendan Emery and wife Stacey of Penacook, Andrew MacDonald and wife Kadie of Rochester, Alison Bouchard and husband Keith of Salem, and Patrick MacDonald and significant other Kelsey Foley of Dover; six great-grandchildren, Liam, Luke, Ryan, Claire, Wyatt, and Ethan; two brothers, William Pierce and wife Flo of FL, Daniel Pierce and wife Lee of KS; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend Dot Kopejzna. He was predeceased by both parents: his infant daughter Tammy Pierce; and two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Pierce.
A service of remembrance took place on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Burial will take place in Brookville Cemetery, Oyster Bay, NY at the convenience of the family. Robert's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Granite Ledges and Concord Hospice VNA for the love and wonderful care of their father.
