Robert H. Desmarais

Robert H. Desmarais, 89, of Manchester, died peacefully on March 2, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
 
Born in Manchester on July 9, 1927, he was the son of Henry and Dorothy (Carter) Desmarais.  He was educated in the local school system and worked as an excavator operator during his career, retiring from Thibeault Construction in 2004.
 
Robert was a lifetime member of the Rimmon and Alpine Clubs, and of PAC.  He loved to watch wrestling in his spare time.  Over all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
 
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Yvette (Boisvert) Desmarais in 2013.
 
Family includes two daughters, Stephanie St. Onge and spouse Richard Caillouette of Freedom, and Colette Desmarais and spouse Wayne Collins of Manchester; one son, Roland Desmarais and wife Irene of Manchester; six grandchildren, Kathleen, Dylan, Carrie, James, Joseph, and Paul; nine great grandchildren; five siblings, Walter Desmarais and wife Gwen of Bradenton, FL and of Auburn; Pauline Parent and late husband Bert of Manchester, Beverly Garon and husband Roland of Manchester, Marcel Desmarais and wife Jeannine of Appleton, NY, and Doreen Lacroix and husband Jerry of Palmetto FL ; and several nieces and nephews.

 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
