Robert W. Kelly, Sr., 87 of Manchester, NH, and formerly of Watertown, and Plymouth, MA passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2017 while surrounded by his family.
Born in Boston he was the son of the late Margaret (Sullivan) and John P. Kelly. After graduating from Boston College, Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Bob began a successful career in business with the culmination of his professional career as a highly regarded expert in the moving and storage industry where he excelled until his retirement.
Bob's life is summed up in simple but profound words; love of family and love of country. Bob also loved BC football, the Red Sox and reading, especially local newspapers and sports (football) magazines. Throughout his life he exemplified the true spirit of community service and giving back to others.
He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Donahue) Kelly; beloved father of Marybeth Kelly Higgins and her husband Joe of Plymouth, Robert W. Kelly, Jr. and his wife Shawn of Aurora, CO, Carolyn Payton and her husband Mark of Melrose and Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B. of Manchester, NH; grandfather of Joseph III, Katherine, Matthew, Robert III, James, Gregory, Michael and Andrew; brother-in-law to Paul and Peggy Harrington of West Roxbury; uncle to Brian, Mark, Keith and Paul and their families.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Saint Anselm Abbey Church, 100 Saint Anselm Dr., Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Saint Anselm Abbey.
