Robert Thomas Kosten Jr., 76, of Manchester passed away October 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 8, 1939, he was the son of Robert T. and Sallie (Miner) Kosten Sr. He graduated from East Providence High School and earned his degree from Northeastern University. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Prior to retirement he owned and operated Edcom, a company in which he sold high end manufacturing equipment. Since retirement, he kept active in sales at Team Nissan in Manchester and then as a school bus driver for the City of Manchester . He also worked for his wife at Hoppagrass Florist.
An avid golfer, Robert also enjoyed running, gardening and woodworking. He enjoyed living a healthy lifestyle and cherished time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Family members include his wife of 59 years, Jean (Maaia) Kosten; his children, Robert T. Kosten III and wife Michelle; Kimberley Gail Martin and husband Kenneth; his granddaughters, Karyssa Kosten and partner Sean Perreault, Emily Minoughan and partner Austin Geden, and Kendal Martin; his brother, Richard M. Kosten and wife Laura.
Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
