Robert L. Lacourse

Robert L. Lacourse, 73, of Manchester, died May 2, 2010. He was born in Manchester, July 21, 1936, and was the son of Albert and Lucienne(Robitaille) Lacourse.

He received his early education locally, and later served in the Air Force as well as the National Guard.

He worked as a baker in Lowell MA for the Yum-Yum shops. In 1970 he moved to Manchester and worked for several bakeries in the area. In 1999 he retired from the Londonderry school system where he had worked for over 10 years as a baker.

For over 40 years Robert was a member of several councils of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the board of trustees, as well as past Grand Knight. He was a member of Catholic War veterans, Post 79, and Alhambra #119 of Manchester.

From 1979-1980 he served as assistant basketball coach at the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish.

He enjoyed watching the kids and playing sports. His family was the center of his life. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

IN HIS LIFE:Family members include his wife of over 54 years, Rita (Landry) Lacourse, of Manchester; his children, Suzanne and her husband Fred Hebert, of Manchester, Diana Lacourse, of Manchester, Daniel and his wife Emmy Lacourse, of Manchester, Andre Lacourse, of Manchester; 9 grandchildren, Adam, Stephanie, Jennifer, Edward, Jessica, Robert, Jonathan, Alyssa, Danielle; 4 great grandchildren, Cara, Eva, Cayla, Hector Jr.; a sister, Doris Feirick Demers, of Hooksett; he was predeceased by a son, Marc Lacourse, in February 2007, a brother Roger Lacourse, in 2003, a sister Lorraine Lacourse, in 1935.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Anthony Church, Belmont St. Manchester on Friday, May 7, 2010.

Burial with military honors, took place at the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
