Robert J. LaSalle, 71, of Manchester, NH, died April 13, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 8, 1931 in Passaic, NJ, the son of John F. and Mary (Ormerod) LaSalle.He lived in Cumberland, RI for many years, and later lived for a time in Fitchburg, Ma. He moved to Derry, NH in 1977 and resided there until moving to Manchester, NH in 1997.
He served in the army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. LaSalle worked many years for the US Department of Defense as an inspector and instructor at Ft. Devens, Ma.
He had been a member of Jesse's Roamers Motorcycle Club in Rhode Island.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 23 years, Margret (McAloon) LaSalle in 1973.
Family members include his wife of 28 years, Frances E. (Firby) LaSalle of Manchester, NH; four sons, Richard R. LaSalle, Robert W. LaSalle, both of Cumberland, RI, A.J. LaSalle and David J. LaSalle, both of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Kathleen LaSalle of Cumberland, R.I.; 10 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a brother, Kenneth LaSalle of Grand Blanc, Mi; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Wednesday April 17, 2002 in St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester, NH where the Liturgy of the Word was offered.
