Robert M. "OB" O'Brien, 81, of Weare, died July 17, 2016 after a lengthy illness with his loving family by his side.
Born in Goffstown on June 6, 1935, he was the son of Leo and Elizabeth (Regan) O'Brien. He was educated in both the Manchester and Concord school system.
After graduation, he served in both the US Army and the New Hampshire Army National Guard.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed in the custodial department at St. Anselm College. Previously, he had worked for the City of Manchester for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Ethel (Dyer) O'Brien in 2009.
Family members include his daughters, Kelly LaRochelle and husband Dan of Manchester, Karen Aldenberg of Weare; three step-sons, John Johnson of Missouri, Richard Johnson and wife Cheryl of Manchester, David Johnson and wife Karen of Greenfield, NH; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Benjamin, Paige, Erin Johnson, Matthew and Alex LaRochelle, Hunter Aldenberg; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo P. O'Brien of Georgia; one sister, Margaret Weadick of Pittsfield.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester N.H.
