Robert E. Mariano, 73, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2015 at his winter home in Ft. Myers, FL. He was president of Bob Mariano Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge in Concord.

He was born in Worcester, MA on June 1, 1942 to Dominic and Estelle (Mowry) Mariano. He graduated from Westwood (MA) High School in 1960 and studied business management at Burdett College in Boston.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1967. He was selected to be part of the elite group and air demonstration team "The Thunderbirds" as an F-100D Super Sabre Crew Chief for one of the solo aircraft. His plane was chosen to be in the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH.

He later went to work in the automobile business in Boston for 12 years as president of Back Bay AMC Jeep/Chrysler. He has been president and owner Bob Mariano Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge in Concord, NH since 1989. He was a member of the NHADA and president of the New England Chrysler-Jeep Advertising Association.

Bob loved golf and was president of Walpole (MA) Country Club for three years. He was also a member at Manchester Country for 26 years, where he served on the board of directors, the Sage Valley Country Club in Aiken, SC and a founding member at Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club in Ft. Myers, FL.

His kind heart and warm smile will be greatly missed. All those who knew him have lost a true friend and someone they have grown to love.

He is survived by his sweetheart and wife, Barbara Mariano; two daughters, Lisa Mariano of Haverhill, MA and Dianne Mariano and her husband, Bill Lustig, of Concord; a son, Jeffrey Mariano of Ipswich, MA; two step sons, Paul Morandi of Hooksett and David Morandi and his wife, Andrea, of Sharon, MA; three wonderful granddaughters who he loved dearly, Jacklyn Mariano, Shelby Mariano and Ava Morandi; two siblings, Dick Mariano and his wife, Susan, of Kennebunkport, ME and Kathy DeVasto and her husband, Dan, of Sharon, MA; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester.
