Robert J. McGrail, 75, of Manchester died peacefully at his home on May 5, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Manchester on April 20, 1940, the son of Edward and Annette (Vincent) McGrail. Robert was educated in the Manchester school system, was a graduate of Central High School and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.

Robert went into the service after high school and was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for the Manchester Police Department for several years and then went on to become a sales person for Freightliner of New Hampshire, for 25 years. Robert had a passion for sports and thoroughly enjoyed coaching his sons and grandson in youth sports. He was a hockey coach for more that 25 years, as well as a coach of soccer and baseball. Robert was a very reserved man whose knowledge, wisdom, values and opinions were respected by those who knew him. He enjoyed fishing and his family was most important to him. Overall, Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Family includes his loving wife of 50 years, Susan J. (Levasseur) McGrail of Manchester; two sons, Paul McGrail of Manchester and Christopher McGrail of Washington; one grandson, Shawn McGrail of Manchester; one sister, Mary Goley and her husband Gary of Manchester; and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by both of his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St, Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to The Food Pantry at St. Raphael Parish, 103 Walker St, Manchester, NH 03102.
