Robert E. Poirier

Robert E. Poirier, 87, of Hooksett, died January 17, 2022 at Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on September 3, 1934 to Alphonse and Florence (Giguere) Poirier (Sowa). He was a lifelong resident of the Manchester area.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Robert worked as a locksmith with Digital Equipment Corporation for many years. In retirement, he worked at the Sisters of Holy Cross in Manchester.
He was a devout Catholic and loved animals. He had also enjoyed time spent at family outings on Lake Winnisquam.
He is survived by five children, Robin Poirier of Manchester, Robert M. Poirier and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bedford, Karen George of Manchester, Michael Poirier of Fontana, CA and Laurie Savoie and her husband, Ghislain, of Manchester; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Suzanne Dakoulas, many nieces and nephews and his longtime companion Bernice Wakeman.
SERVICES: Services are private and burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester at the convenience of the family.
