Robert Proulx, 81, of Manchester, died November 25, 2016 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on April 2, 1935 to Cleophas and Antoinette (Lafond) Proulx. He served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong resident of Manchester. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Robert worked for Sears and Honeywell for 10 years. He then worked as a Design Draftsman for Freudenburg NOK, retiring in 1996.
Robert had a passion for photography and jazz music. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was always very happy and easygoing, as well as kind, generous, and giving. Family was most important to him, and he simply adored his grandchildren. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Laurette Proulx in 2011.
Family includes his daughter, Mara Elliot of England; two step daughters, Elizabeth Zogopoulos of Weare, and Michelle Lafountain of Plattsburg, NY; two brothers, Arthur and Roger Proulx of Manchester; five step grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also predeceased by his sister Evelyn Radwin in 1957. The family would also like to thank the staff of Hillborough County Nursing Home for the exceptional care given to Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker Street, Manchester. Memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to: The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, Floor 6, Brookline, MA, 02445. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
