Robert J. Schadee

June 24, 1942 — March 1, 2018

Robert James Schadee, 75, of Concord and Hampton Beach, NH died March 1, 2018 at the Concord Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born in Wethersfield, CT on June 24, 1942, he was the son of Julius Schadee and Sylvia (Becher) Ierardi . He was educated in the Wethersfield school system and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley College in 1966. While in college he served as president of his fraternity, Kappa Pi Alpha. Bob's experience at Bentley College was instrumental in shaping his future and a philanthropic fund is being established there in his memory. An article from his graduation year titled "A Profile in Integrity" described Bob as a scholar, a leader, and a true gentleman. Those words accurately described Robert's character throughout his life.
Bob began his public accounting career in the Boston office of Coopers & Lybrand where he advanced to the position of Senior Manager and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
In 1979, Bob moved to Concord, NH to join Sanel Auto Parts, where he was the Controller and Vice President of Finance for 25 years until his retirement in 2004.
Always active in his community, he served on the Board of Directors of Delta Dental of NH from 1984 to 1995, the last three years as treasurer. He was a member of the Concord Country Club and enjoyed participating in golf leagues for many years.
Bob was elected the treasurer of a new homeowners association at 339 Ocean Boulevard, Hampton Beach in 2015. This helped renew his zeal for accounting projects in his retirement.
Robert loved the ocean from an early age and always wanted to spend time at the seacoast. As a child he enjoyed spending summers on his boat, the "Dee Dee 2", in Old Saybrook and while working in Boston spent summers sailing on Cape Cod aboard the "Seven Bells". In 1978, Bob bought a home in Ogunquit, ME and enjoyed years of sharing time with close friends and family until 2013. St. Maarten was another special place by the sea for Bob. He traveled to the island every year for over 30 years. Most recently, Bob and Muriel immensely enjoyed a second home on Ocean Boulevard at Hampton Beach.
He was predeceased by his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family members include his loving wife, Muriel D. (Provost) Schadee of Concord; nieces and nephews, Michelle Messenger and husband Greg of Strafford, NH, Donna Soucy of Manchester, NH Kelley Bedard and husband Jim of Lebanon, ME; great-nephews, Garrett, Gaige, Matthew and Trent; a great-niece, Katie.
A funeral service was on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association, 30 Pillsbury St, Concord, NH 03301 or to the Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant St, Concord, NH 03301.
