Richard O. Shedd, 87, of Manchester, died December 16, 2025, at Villa Crest Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manchester, December 26, 1937, to the late Otis and Alice (Boucher) Shedd. Richard was one of 8 children.
Richard attended Central High School prior to joining the United States Navy Reserves. Richard worked most of his life at Jac-Pac Foods until his retirement. Richard first met the love of his life in his teenage years, whom he later married on May 26, 1956. The bond between Richard and Constance was immediate and nothing short of a love story. They were inseparable for over 70 years. Richard and Constance resided in their home in Manchester for 65 years, raised 5 children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard enjoyed taking Constance to the casinos, vacationing in Hawaii, making family photo albums, and attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and birthday parties. Richard was never without his camera. He captured moments in life that are memorialized in his vast array of albums, leaving a lasting legacy. There was always an album on the table, properly labeled by year, name, and event. Richard was a “Papa” to all, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Richard is survived by his 4 children, Kathleen Camire and husband Jean of Manchester, Lisa Kenney and husband Mark of Campton, Michael Shedd and wife Caryn of Dunbarton, Brad Shedd and wife Vesna of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Christine Marquis, Elizabeth Camire, Jonathan Camire, Michaela Lui, Cody Bryant, Noah Shedd, Devon Shedd, Dylan Shedd, Nathan Shedd, Christine Shedd, and Kaylie Conner; 13 great-grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Jaiden, Xavier, Brady, Alexander, Leilani, Benjamin, Reilly, Amelia, Hailey, Lincoln, Jaxson, Carson; and several nieces and nephews.
