Roberta A. Lattig

April 3, 1939 — December 22, 2024

Roberta A. “Bobbie” Lattig, 85, of Manchester, passed away peacefully December 22, 2024 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief period of declining health, surrounded by her loving daughter and three grandchildren who will continue to honor her legacy.

She was born on April 3, 1939 in Manchester, NH, the youngest of four children to Thomas and Cecile (Gagnon) Lattig and was a lifelong resident of Manchester and Bedford. She graduated from Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester. She went on to have a long, rewarding career as a beloved English teacher at Memorial High School.

Those who knew Bobbie will remember her caring, compassionate and kind spirit, but most importantly her immense generosity. If she had anything to give, she would. She was an amazing advocate for underprivileged and challenged students. She organized clothing/food drives and fundraisers during her teaching career and later established the Cecilia Gagnon Lattig scholarship, in honor of her mother, to assist students with limited financial means pursuing a higher education.

Bobbie was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Richelieu Club and a longtime communicant of Ste. Marie Church. She enjoyed reading, writing and spending time with family and friends. Her stories of yesteryear would hold you captivated and always wanting to hear more.

She is predeceased by her parents, three siblings, Viola Mistretta, Arline Erickson and Thomas Lattig, Jr. and their spouses.

Bobbie is survived by her two children, Jonathan Bourgeois and his wife, Tracy, and Melanie Potter of Bedford; eight grandchildren, among them, Matthew, Avery and Justin Potter; a great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
