Roger E. Beland, 69, of Manchester, died February 11, 2002, at the Laurel Center in Bedford after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bedford, August 19, 1932, he was the son of Ernest and Yvonne (Hebert) Beland. He had been a Manchester resident most of his life.
He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Beland retired 15 years ago from the NH Department of Transportation where he worked for 33 years.
He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Family members include his wife of 46 years, Shirley C. (Cyr) Beland of Manchester; 2 daughters, Laurie A. Lapointe, and June M. Choquette, both of Manchester; 2 sons, Gary R. Beland of Exeter, and Kevin A. Beland of Manchester; 6 grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Dionne of Auburn; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were February 12, 2002 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated February 13, 2002 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
