Roger E. Blaine Sr., 81, of Manchester, passed unexpectedly but gently from this earth on May 16, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Goffstown on May 14, 1935 to Edward and Annie (Lappas) Blaine. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He served in the Army National Guard for many years.
Roger worked at Manchester Hosiery Mills, Kollsmann Instruments in Merrimack and Herrington in Londonderry for many years. He was a lifelong handyman, a former race car driver and vintage car enthusiast. He was also a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Manchester.
He was predeceased by his parents and his step mother, Yvette (Proulx) (Huot) Blaine.
The family includes his wife of 60 years, Doris P. (Cote) Blaine of Manchester; three children, Cheryl Blaine and her husband, John Wallace, of Arlington, MA, Brenda Pierce of Derry and Roger E. Blaine Jr. and his wife, Kimberley, of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Selena Pierce, Sam Pierce, Carley Blaine, Stephen Pierce, Padraig Wallace, Julia Wallace and Joseph Blaine; a stepbrother, Robert Huot of Maryland; a sister in law, Cecile Mercier and her husband, Paul, of Manchester; a brother in law, Andre Cote and his wife, Shirley, of Florida; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony was held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
