He was born in Manchester on July 25, 1933 to Roland and Laurette (Deshaies) Charest. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Charest worked for Raytheon Corporation, Sanders Associates and Osram Sylvania for many years.
He was an avid bicyclist and skier and was one of the founders of the Granite State Wheelmen Bicycle Association. He volunteered at Sacred Heart CYO and at the YMCA teaching skiing.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a loving and generous person.
The family includes two sisters, Lucille St. Jean of Manchester and Pauline Pellerin and her husband, Andy, of Hooksett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, 265 So. Main St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
