Roger M. Charpentier

March 24, 1918 — November 2, 2006

Roger M. Charpentier, 88, passed away on November 2, 2006 at a local healthcare facility following a long illness.

He was born on March 24, 1918, in Manchester, the son of the late Arsene "Sam" J. Charpentier and Aldea Dubois Charpentier. A native of Manchester, he graduated from St. Joseph High School and later obtained his B.S. in accounting from New Hampshire College.

He married Irene Eva Blair on January 25, 1942. He was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Roger enjoyed golf, bowling, cribbage, and scrabble. He was a former communicant of St. Anthony Church and also St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Roger is survived by his wife, Irene Charpentier of Manchester; four children and their families, Pauline R. Charpentier of Maynard, MA; Janet M. Charpentier, her husband, Jim Kowalski, and their children, Michael and Mary Ann of Osterville, MA; Doris A. Charpentier of New York City, and Leo R. Charpentier, his wife, Anita, and their children, Monica and Erik of Hunt Valley, MD; He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille Guilbert.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Catherine Church on Monday November 6, 2006. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
