Roger “Babe” Pinard, 90, of Manchester, died suddenly on October 10, 2024, at his home.
He was born September 25, 1934, in Manchester to Emile and Alida (Baril) Pinard.
He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1953.
He was U.S. Army veteran.
He worked at Roland’s Garage and later for the City of Manchester Parks and Recreation Department.
He volunteered for NH Special Olympics and was a member of Catholic War Veterans 1624 and was the driving force behind the 100 Nights of Remembrance at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Family members include his wife of 65 years, Claire (Laplante) Pinard of Manchester; one son, Donald Pinard and his wife Shaunna (Kilrain) Pinard of Manchester; three grandchildren, Kate Caswell and husband Josh of Manchester, Abby Paris and husband Greg of Manchester, John Pinard and companion Jen Tabor of Shrewsbury MA.; three great-grandchildren; McAllister Caswell, Connell Caswell and Elsie Paris.; One sister, Evelyn Salvas of Lowell MA; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Roger was predeceased by his son Daniel Pinard and his sister Madeline Vachon.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4pm-7pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at The Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St, Manchester NH. Committal prayers will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rogers's memory to the following charities: The Moore Center, 195 McGregor St, STE 400, Manchester NH 03102; Special Olympics New Hampshire, P.O. Box 3598, Concord NH 03302.
