Roger A. Dickinson, 80, of Bedford, died November 9, 2022 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.
He was born in Leominster, MA on November 11, 1941 to Ernest and Beatrice (Miller) Dickinson. He grew up in Fitchburg, MA and graduated from Fitchburg High School. He had also lived in Arlington, MA before moving to his forever home in Bedford NH many years ago.
During the 1960’s he served in the U.S. Air Force.
Roger worked for New England Telephone Company/Verizon for 30 years in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He enjoyed being active playing golf and skiing, visiting family at the lake and Cape Cod, working in his gardens and traveling. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings, Ernest, Kenneth, John, Delwin, Jane, Beverly and Constance.
Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary E. (Sherman) Dickinson of Bedford; two children, Susan McCullough and her husband, Jeff, and Roger Dickinson and his wife, Jennifer, all of Manchester; a granddaughter, Alexandra Bresse of Manchester; a great granddaughter, Charlotte Joyce of Manchester; three siblings, Arnold Dickinson of Amherst, James Dickinson of Colorado Springs, CO and Kathy Albert of Fitchburg, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (11/15) at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Private interment at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen will be at the convenience of the family.
