Roger A. Duhaime

July 15, 1948 — March 20, 2024

Bedford, NH

Roger A. Duhaime lived a life of love and caring for others.  He was born on July 15, 1948 to Armand and Alice (Dion) Duhaime. He took his last breath on March 20, 2024, after a period of declining health due to Alzheimer’s.

Family was most important to him. He was married to the love of his life Susan L. (St Onge) for 52 years. They had two children creating a loving family, daughter Jocelyn Degler and her husband, David, of Concord, NH and son Alan and wife, Jill (Trongo) Duhaime of Chester, NH.  He was blessed with four amazing grandchildren, Abby, Sarah, Jason and Shannon, who always brought a smile to his face.

He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Duhaime and his brother-in-law, Bill St Onge.  He leaves behind sisters-in-law, Anita St. Onge of Portland, Maine, Gloria Andrews and her husband, Jeff, of Chichester, NH, and Karen St Onge of Bedford, NH, very special nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many colleagues and friends.

He was a graduate of St. George Grammar School class of 1962, Bishop Bradley High School class of 1966 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from NH College (now Southern NH University) class of 1970. He was employed in banking for 45 years, starting as a messenger and retiring as Senior Vice President of the Municipal Lending Division at Citizens Bank in 2012. He was recognized with several awards including the President’s Award and the Community Service Award.

He served his community as a Trustee of the Manchester City Library and the Library Foundation Board. He was a board member of the Salvation Army and was a member of the Allocations Committee of Greater Manchester United Way. He served on the AARP Volunteer Committee and was a volunteer aerobics instructor at the Manchester YMCA for 18 years. His favorite class to lead was silver sneakers.  He also loved gardening, hiking and cross-country skiing.  He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish in Manchester and served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and served on the parish Bereavement Committee.

He loved family vacations including a cross-country camping trip that included stops in Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon and so many others. Upon retirement he traveled around the world having many “trips of a lifetime” to locations including Bermuda, Costa Rica, Europe, South America and the Galapagos Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and Scandinavia. He fulfilled a dream of spending Bastille Day in Paris. By far his favorite trips were the vacations he shared with grandchildren to Cape Cod, Shenandoah, Hershey, Acadia and Disney.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle, friend, and colleague, he will be missed and never forgotten.  Our memories will remind us of the love he had for us.
